A Celebration of Caravanning

With sponsors The Caravan Club, designer Jo Thompson will evoke the very best of what a break in Britain means.

Holidaying in the UK has never been more popular, and to inspire visitors to consider using caravans, a 1950s aluminium structure named Doris will form the focal feature of this garden. The design shows how a caravan can be part of your garden as a summerhouse or playhouse as well as a great, affordable way to holiday.

A palette of pink and cream planting including salvias and irises, as well as Wealden sandstone paths and timber walkways over running water will convey the delights of a touring holiday at home.

Blowsy roses of early summer and masses of cow parsley will nostalgically evoke country lanes and classic English country gardens. Jo’s contemporary take on traditional planting will be seen in the garden: tall, naked stems creating a height and also a ‘veil’ through to the rest of the planting.
