London courtyard garden
By London garden designer Catherine Heatherington. This small garden behind a large double fronted house in South London was designed to make the most of a small space.

It is on view in all seasons from the large expanse of glass which extends across the width of the house and therefore the design focuses on sculptural and architectural planting, features and lighting.

The clients developed and extended the house to create two flats so it was important to ensure that the upstairs tenants also had interesting views down into the garden.
