Small Contemporary Garden

They wanted a garden to complement the modern kitchen they had chosen. Sawn sandstone paving, a stainless steel water feature and clean lines helped to achieve this. A trampoline was partially hidden in a sleeper edged sunken area which can be turned into a seating area later.

The stainless steel water wall is softened with adjacent planting of Hydrangea arborescens "Anabelle" and Phyllostachys aureo-sulcata "Aureocaulis".

The lowest part of the garden is now a sunken space for the trampoline, with sleeper edging and bamboos adding addtional screening. 

Clipped Ilex x altaclarensis "Golden King" half standards are planted in terrazo pots, with an underplanting of Hakanochloa macra.

Standard Photinia fraseri "Red Robin" trees screen the neighbouring property, while clipped Buxus cubes frame the sleeper built seat. Hydrangea arborescens "Annabelle" is underplanted with Brunnera macrophylla "Jack Frost" with Clematis "Perle D'Azure" trained on the fence behind.

Terrazo pots planted with Fargesia nitida "Red Panda" hide the fence whilst screening the neighbouring property. In the border Carex testacea is planted with Hebe pinguifolia "Pagei" and Viola cornuta "Blue Molly
