The Monaco Garden
By garden designer Sarah Eberle. The garden illustrates the interaction of architecture and landscape that characterises Monaco.

Monaco is a Mediterranean Principality the size of Hyde Park, highly populated, rich in character and supportive of the arts and the environment. The garden reflects the character, personality and vibrancy of Mediterranean Monaco.

The garden shows how landscape and architecture can interact to provide aesthetic and, most importantly, environmentally sustainable solutions to enhance urban living.

Roof space, vertical walls and alternative energy sources work together to provide a solution to high density living.

The rear portion of the garden is a structure of variable height that represents a section of a high rise building. The main room exits on to a courtyard which provides access to a small balcony. A green roofed partially glazed structure punctures the main building and provides an area for indoor/outdoor living.
