I have a south facing patio, and would dearly love to have a couple of climbers against the house, but sadly they will have to be in containers. Roses would be ideal - but how restricted will they be in a container - and should I look at the smaller ones - and is there a scented one that could cope? Help please!

Lady Penelope and Good As Gold, are both suitable for containers. Both are scented. I have bought pot grown roses online from http://www.britishroses.co.uk and have been very impressed with the delivery and the plants. They stock both of these roses.

I hope you enjoy them, don't forget to water regularly and give some potash early in the season.
