I have always used Bacopa snowflake in my baskets and containers so next year I fancy trying to propogate my own but cannot find any seeds in our local garden centres. Is it DIFFICULT to set off your own OR is it grown from cuttings?

Hi Nancy,
You're on to a winner with this plant for summer interest. I personally love its simple flower and its dense habit. Difficult enough to get though as it sells out rather quickly due to its popularity.
Bacopa snowflake is an older variety and although still quite popular for pots and baskets it has smaller flowers, less vigor, and less tolerance to heat and diseases in comparison to its newer cousin Bacopa Snowstorm.
Both are propagated by cuttings, and not by seed and the cuttings do not require root hormone treatment.
Do check about the patent though most especially for the newer var B. Snowstorm as any unauthorized propagating maybe illegal.
Here in Ireland it has overwintered for me quite successfully. You could also try growing from root cuttings but you will need bottom heat temps of 21 - 24 degree Celsius. Let me know how you get on.
