Anyone interested in growing tropical plants? Trying my hand at it and would be grateful for any tips, plants to grow etc.

Hi, Ian,
What are you growing? I used to tend tropicals in office/indoor situations as well as some in the temperate nursery at Kew. I now live in Southern California where many tropicals grow outdoors (some needing more water than allowed, though).

I am trying my hand growing bird of paradise plants, but now the cold weather is here in England i have taken them indoors so any advice about positioning, watering etc will be welcome, also do they like central heating? thanks Ian.
