Great Find!

from Joanne 9919

What a great find Laura. It's just right for your containers and certainly makes a feature of them.

from Joanne 9919

I get lots of hoverflies on my strawberries too. I haven't seen any around the pond though.

Oh no!

from Joanne 9919

Once they have germinated you need to take them out of the plastic bag.

Have another go.

Allotment

from Joanne 9919

Hi Fi,

No tadpoles in my pond. I think I got it in too late for this year.

Work at the allotment is steady. I'm slowly getting it weeded and dug over. My potatoes are in as are some of my strawberries and I've got lots of things in the greenhouse waiting to go in.

Seeds

from Joanne 9919

Hi Fi,

Are you covering the seed trays? I always cover mine with a propagator lid. If you don't have one try putting the seed tray inside a clear plastic bag. This helps to keep the moisture in so that the compost doesn't dry out and also gives them a little extra warmth. Once you've watered the seeds in you won't have to water them again until they've germinated if you use this method. Overwatering might be another reason why they haven't germinated.

Also, keep it in the sunniest spot you've got. You should have had better germination than you've got.

Veggie Patch

That's great Fi.

You've certainly put some hard work in, and you're growing such a variety of things. Keep us informed how you're progressing.

Companion Planting

from Joanne 9919

Hi Fi,

I'm doing the same with my veg. I'm also growing French Marigolds to plant near my tomatoes as it's supposed to repel white fly.

Thanks Vicky.

It's nice to hear that someone has had success with them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is my year!
