douglas, My garden (GU24)

Styles: English cottage

Soil types: Sandy

Soil drainage: Well-drained

Soil pH: Acid

Light: Full Sun, Partial Shade

Aspect: South, West

Exposure: Sheltered

Hardiness: Hardy (H4)

Gardens at front and rear mostly to herbaceous plants and shrubs plus a few trees and a number of standing pots. Not a new garden but one which was designed and part planted some 10years ago. Am building up a range of perennial flowering plants which will hopefully offer continuous flowering through the year.Use as many 'scented' plants as I can squeeze in and since I garden on sand I do have a weed problem from time to time. Have recently been given some Canna Lilies which i love for both their architectural value as well as the robust colours which fit well with other plants. Having moved house a couple of years ago have inherited a few Azaleas and other acid lovers. For patio gardeing I use Regal Pelargoniums, Fuschias plus a variety of Perennials which I mix in with the traditional plants including, Dahlias/Cannas/grasses and etc.
