louisa gilhooly, my forgotton garden (CB23)

my garden is about 1 1/2 acres, before i moved here with my family in 2006 it had been untouched for about 30 years. it is a mixture of overgrown 'woodland', brambles and ivy although we do have some snowdrops coming through! we have heavy clay soil which is water logged during winter. there is a very 'sludgy' pond which we hope to clear out soon. so far we have begun re-juvenating the front hedge, which we plan to fill gaps with a mix of native plants, and cleared 40 tonnes of builders rubbish (left 10 years ago when the house was restored) from the front garden where we hope to plant a 'meadow' of sorts. update june 2007: meadow has looked brilliant this summer and we have found the back of the garden!
