Jane , My Garden (SO19)

Styles: Allotment or vegetable plot, Child friendly, English cottage

Light: Full Sun, Partial Shade

Aspect: South

Exposure: Sheltered

I live in an urban setting but am lucky to have a fairly large garden in an older area of the City. It is south facing and we have lived here for 27 years. My gardening is a bit hit and miss and I am forever moving things, although this year I have decided to try to 'establish' things more

About me
I am a 'hit and miss' keen gardener and am forever moving things. My garden is not immaculate by any means but is still very presentable most of the time. I do however keep perservering with plants that just don't like the conditions! I LOVE!!!! camellia but they HATE my garden so I grow a couple in tubs to satisfy my needs. My profile image is of a bouquet I made up as a gift from the flowers in my garden at the time and I was very pleased with it. Talk about blowing your own trumpet!! I just wish I had my 57 years over again because by the time I've learned by my mistakes it seems too late. I should have planted an apple tree 27 years ago!

Gardening expertise
Very Keen

Biggest gardening accomplishments
Growing asiatic lilies which are admired by my friends.

Biggest gardening frustrations
Waiting 27 years to persuade my husband to remove a conifer. It was finally removed at the end of last year at a height of around 50 feet (and that was after years of trying to keep it at bay and re-seeding and re-seeding and re-seeding ............the lawn trying to grow under it!!

The gardening project I am currently working on
NOW THAT THE CONIFER IS OUT OF THE WAY! I have created 3 beds across the garden to try to keep all the 'pretty' plants in one place . I have a central bed which is to be 'shrubby' and therefore hopefully low maintenance and a bed either side with 'cottage
