Zia Mays, My Garden (N7)

Styles: Courtyards and small terraces, Organic

Soil types: Clay

Soil drainage: Moisture-retentive

Soil pH: Acid

Aspect: South

Exposure: Sheltered

My small thin townhouse garden. There are narrow kitchen garden borders adjoining the patio, with herbs, a bay tree, lavender, grapevine and a productive fig tree. A flowering cherry tree and tree paeony dominate in spring; the rest of the garden is a mix of shrubs, perennials and bulbs, with a tiered raised bed for growing salad vegetables.

About me
It started with herbs on the balcony and tomatoes on the windowsill. Now, I'm looking after an allotment and greenhouse as well as my own back garden.
