Groundsmaid

About me
A keen gardener for about 25 years. Gardening in my own moderate plot to the back and front of my 4 bed 1930s semi. Also an experienced gardener for 'nature', I have led the renovation of a large school grounds nature reserve and trail.

Gardening expertise
Very Keen

Biggest gardening accomplishments
Installing a small pond and waterfall all for £35 and alot of effort. Making a gazebo extending out from the shed using a couple of fence posts, wooden posts and trellis again on the cheap. This was the first time I had ever used a drill, I had to phone my dad to ask him which type of drill bits to use! I also took out a privet hedge about 15metres long and have created a gravel pathway weaving in and out of small trees and perenials. Another idea I had was making myself a lighthouse to festoon my small seaside garden using a damaged obelisk from B & Q and a candle lantern from Ikea.

Biggest gardening frustrations
The neighbours at the rear of us never cut the privet hedge! Bind weed encroaching from the rear corner from an untended garden. Vine weevils.

The gardening project I am currently working on
Just put in a 3metre high Crataegus Crimson Cloud (flowering crimson Hawthorn) to attract the birds along my boundary gravel path and fence. (Bought from a local nursery, just fit in the car with the seats down).
