a small urban garden that was neglected for 10 years. I have a rose bed filled up with pot chrysanthemums, mallows and some annuals. I have a herb garden with asters and hollyhocks to give a cottage garden look. I have 2 apple trees from my college grafting class. I am trying to develope a meadow area to hide a log pile at the back. I am doing this all organically. When I arrived it was totally overgrown with terrible weeds. The tennants of the other 5 flats dont do the garden. I got the council to cut down the worst bit and covered it with a hessian backed carpet. The lawn and all the herbs are planted through this and it works really well. I'll post a photo in summer. The willow and some shrubs were already there. Most things had been killed off by hops which I battle to control, but also form a very useful winbreak.Alix's garden plan
