I'm a retired schools' Inspector who enjoys pottering about in our medium - sized garden that surrounds the bungalow. My wife Carol and me moved here over three years ago after bringing up our family of one daughter and two sons in a detached house with about one third of an acre of garden. We have both adapted well to our new abode and get great pleasure in developing the garden from scratch virtually.
Biggest gardening accomplishments
In some ways, it is a feeling of satisfaction that I have quite succesfully carried on the strong gardening traditions and skills of my father and other family connections before him. I suppose that my greatest gardening accomplishment was creating a family garden that kept everyone happy and which even managed to please our pet dog(s) and hens over more than thirty years too! Lovely memories of creating something close to nature and from bare beginnings.
Biggest gardening frustrations
This section is more difficult to respond to because overcoming the frustrations is such a key to the enjoyment and satisfaction of gardening. Nevertheless, I suppose the frustrating effects of our British weather with its drought, frost, storms and floods that can cause havoc and remind us that nature is in charge of us gardeners at the end of the day! How satisfying, however, to repair it all afterwards and to try again!
The gardening project I am currently working on
The current "bungalow" garden has been a whole new project on a much smaller scale than I had been used to and because the previous occupants were content in having a decent lawn front and back but with nowt much else. After three years or so of enjoyable
