About me
I am M.D. of Bell Gardens Ltd in Worthing West Sussex. The company is 50 years old and is a member of the Horticulural Trade Association, the Association of Professional Landscapers and a founder member of the British Association of Landscape Industries.
I qualified in horticulture from Merrist Wood college near Guildford in the 1980's after working on a landscape division of a garden centre near london. Previously I had worked building swimming pools in Cape Town, had lived on an organic farm for 6 months in Sussex and laboured for a builder in Surrey. I enjoy how humans use nature to create wonderful spaces and prefer tamed environments to raw landscapes. The most amazing thing I ve seen is carrots growing in an oasis in the Sahara desert and blue bells and wood anenomes growing in a beech wood in Sussex. I have British and Canadian nationality, three kids and love my bicycle.
