Small town garden. Long narrow plot. Soil is alkaline, clay soil. Patio by the house gets extremely hot in summer. Rest of garden is 2 feet below patio, so possibly a bit of a frost-pocket. Overlooked by neighbours either side. New pond to encourage wildlife. New pergola over sunny patio for grapevine and other climbers. Shady retreat and seating area at rear half of garden. Plant lovers garden.
