Joanne, Cornwall (TR14)

Styles: Allotment or vegetable plot, Coastal, Formal, Rural, Water

Soil types: Loamy

Soil drainage: Moist but well-drained

Soil pH: Neutral

Light: Full Shade, Full Sun, Partial Shade

Aspect: North, South, East, West

Exposure: Exposed, Sheltered

Hardiness: Tender in frost (H3), Hardy (H4)

1 acre in size and split into several areas. Bounded by two large pines to the east and four to the west. We have a veg plot also on the east boundary and a currently wild area on the west boundary overshadowed by four pines. Some of the garden is on a slight slope. We have a large pond and patio/summerhouse with planting area around it. We are surrounded by fields so weeds/brambles/nettles are a problem as are rabbits/squirrels. We are not far from the coast so catch some fierce south-westerlys on occasions. The soil is very good and easy to work but not sandy. Our ph is probably neutral to acid but this varies throughout the garden.
