Amalgamation of two overgrown, sloping gardens into one large garden in front of a traditional row of cottages in central Fife. Creating a wildlife-friendly environment and using the natural stone available on site were priorities for the client. Seating areas were included to make the best of the afternoon and evening sun and to allow the clients to enjoy the long views over the rooftops of the town and into the rural valley beyond.Belinda Macdonald, Shades of Green's garden plan

About me
I am a professional garden designer, running Shades of Green Garden Design based in Dollar, Clackmannanshire. I help clients to create the ideal garden for their lifestyle, location & budget. I often work alongside my clients in the new garden during the planting phase, chatting with them about why the plants have been selected and what needs to be done to encourage healthy, vigorous growth over the ensuing seasons.Every garden that I design is different, as each one reflects the aspirations, preferences and needs of the client. As result, my working life is one of constant stimulation and challenge, as I seek the best solutions to the problems posed by each garden I am involved with. It's a very satisfying way to spend one's days! Some of my clients' gardens are listed in the Members Gardens section - search for Belinda Macdonald.
