Anthyllis vulneraria

Comment from Miriam Mesa-Villalba

Kidney vetch is the sole food plant for the caterpillars of the small blue butterfly. This is now a species in severe decline and an unlikely garden visitor. However, some new colonies have recently become established in urban situations, such as newly-planted road embankments and disused railways.

What Shoot members say...

"Just wanted to say what a fantastic website this is. Up till now, have always kept a written diary of my garden's maintenance and plant upkeep. But now am in the process of putting everything on your care calendar, which with all the additional information you can download, is time saving and educational. Keep up the good work!"
