Variety or cultivar: 'Evening Glow' _ 'Evening Glow' is a tender evergreen shrub. It has shiny, green, ovate leaves with yellow markings that take on pink to brown tints in spring. Its flowers are insignificant but are followed on female plants by colourful berries.

Cultivation: Grow under glass in loam-based compost in bright filtered light with good ventilation. Water during summer growth ( just moist in winter). Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser monthly when in growth. Or plant outside in a sunny, frost-protected spot.

I planted 2 of these in an East facing shrub border, but neither have flourished. They were planted over a year ago.I attach a photo of their sorry state.Any tips for encouraging them?
