Cornus sanguinea

Comment from Miriam Mesa-Villalba

Greenish white flowers appear in June, and have a rather unpleasant scent, but this seems to be attractive to numerous insects including bees. The blue-black berries are eaten by a range of birds. In the past, a water-based extract made from this plant was used as a treatment for mange in domestic dogs, hence the English common name.
