Variety or cultivar: 'Sultan' _ 'Sultan' is a clump-forming, cormous perennial with upright, lance-shaped, bronze-flushed, pleated, mid- to dark green leaves and, from midsummer into autumn, arching, branched, dark purple stems bearing racemes of funnel-shaped, downward-facing, red flowers with yellow and maroon basal rings.
