Symptoms

- Infected plants will die before maturity. Onion leaves wilt, although this symptom may not be so obvious in alliums. Bulbs rot at the base and when lifted appear covered with a fluffy-white mould. This is a most serious disease, as it is nearly impossible to eradicate from the soil and can survive for up to 15 years.
