Symptoms

- The premature shedding of needles is usually a secondary symptom of another plant disease. The entire browning and dropping of needles with no secondary infection to shoots is hard to diagnose.

This can be seen just after planting if there is damage to roots. Other common causes include leaf spot, red spider mite, aphid infestation; inappropriate soil conditions and cold winter damage.
