I've read the pruning advice with interest. However, I've just planted three very young erysimum bowles mauve. They are small plants - arrived in 9cm pots and are only about 5" tall. No sign of flower spikes yet! They certainly don't need pruning, but I was wondering if it would be useful/safe to just trim the tops now to encourage bushy growth?

Question from
Kirsti
Hi - I have one of these for the first time - should I prune it back so that it is nice and bushy and get rid of the long stems so that they can grow back next spring? or should I just leave it! not sure what to do -as you can tell I am a bit of a naive gardener at the moment!
Thanks
