Escallonia Gold Ellen

Question from Barbara Sellery

It was covered in snow and ice end Nov/beginning Dec and since the thaw is just brown. We had no lower than -10C here in Dartford - do you think it has survived and is it best to cut it back hard in late Feb. It had been in for about 10 months and was flourishing and covered in flowers still.
