Species: G. carneus - G. carneus is an upright perennial with blue-green strap-shaped leaves. In late spring to early summer, it bears spikes of open, funnel-shaped flowers that may be white or pink with frilled petals that have red or yellow markings.

Suggested uses: Beds and borders, City, Conservatory, Cottage/Informal, Flower Arranging, Greenhouse, Sub-Tropical
Cultivation: Plant 10 to 16cm deep in fertile, well-drained soil (on sharp sand). Lift when foliage dies back, discard old corms and store new corms in a dry, frost-free place to re-plant in spring. In milder areas, a thick, dry winter mulch may be enough.
