Genus: Livistona
Species: L. chinensis - L. chinensis is a medium-sized palm with a large trunk, swollen at the base, and short, spiny leaf stalks bearing glossy, deep green leaves divided into linear segments. Panicles of cream flowers bloom in summer followed by spherical to oval, glossy blue-green to grey-pink fruit.

Cultivation: Grow in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Protect in winter. Under glass, grow in loam-based compost full or bright light. Water moderately and feed monthly in growth. Keep almost dry in winter.
