Question from Barbara Kolodziej

I have this magnolia Liliflora nigra in a very large pot. It was bought about 10 years ago as a 'twig' from sainburys. I usually have a good flush of flowers but this year only 2 appearing. It is now quite bushy but only 3ft tall. - which suits the pot . I dont usually feed it apart from topping up compost. Question is should I try and put it into garden or leave it pot bound which it is bound to be.
Thanks for help.
