Variety or cultivar: 'Atropurpurea' _ 'Atropurpurea' is a low, open, suckering, evergreen shrub bearing pinnate, dark green leaves with spiny-toothed leaflets that turn reddish-purple in winter. Densely clustered racemes of yellow flowers bloom in spring, followed by blue-black fruit in summer and autumn.
