banksia rose

General post from Robert Thomas

I am wanting to take some banksia rose to india from uk i am not sure if they will grow there in the hot weather the reason asking is that I was bought up in australia where the banksia rose thrives in all conditions i am wondering if this variety here will do the same I am wanting to use it in conjunction with tropical passion fruit as a border on top of our surronding wall to give us privacy as well as give us the marvelous flowers they would be semi sheltered position but very hot areas in summer the watering system is drip irragation for 3 hrd daily thanks

Yellow Banksia Rose

Comment from Laura Thomas

I absolutely love the profusion of sunny little yellow flowers on this mega rambling thornless rose. This is a wonderful easy to care for rambler which flowers from April onwards (mine eventually overshadowed by deciduous tree so does not flower into summer). Prune lightly after flowering and give a Spring feed and it more or less takes care of itself.

Have planted this against sunnyish garden wall and adjacent to Golden Privet which not only complements it but provides plenty of support for long branches. The neighbours appreciate it too hanging over the shared wall.
