Silene vulgaris

Comment from Miriam Mesa-Villalba

The individual flowers are small and have five-notched petals, which grow out of an inflated bladder-like calyx, hence its name. The very attractive insect the black and red froghopper is often seen on this plant.

"Have done a bit more to my garden layout on Shoot - this application is so useful for determining how much space you have for planting. I really like how you can show underplanting by overlapping plant pictures."
