Variety or cultivar: 'Mariesii' _ 'Mariesii' is a large shrub with spreading branches; veined, dark green leaves, which turn purple in autumn; and lacey, white flower heads in late spring sometimes followed by red or black fruit.

I planted the above in 2009,but it has hardly moved. It has grown a bit horizontally, but there is no upward growth from the middle of the plant. What can I do to get it going?
