Species: W. sinensis - W. sinensis is a vigorous climber with twining stems with drooping racemes of fragrant, mauve flowers opening before the leaves.
Wisteria sinensis is: Deciduous
Flower: Pale-purple in Spring; Pale-purple in Summer
Foliage: Dark-green in Summer
Fragrance: The flowers have a lovely fragrance.

Cultivation: Plant in soil that is moist but well-drained.This becomes a very large and long-lived climber so choose the right site when planting. Can be grown informally through large tree or more formally against a house wall.
