Variety or cultivar: 'Prolific' _ 'Prolific' is a deciduous, twining shrub with fresh-green pinnate leaves. It is so named because of its abundant, full flowers produced on bare stems in spring. The flowers are blue-violet, highly scented, in drooping racemes and pea-like, often produced in the first or second year after planting.

I bought this plant as a grafted unit in autumn 2008 and though I get lots of leaves and growth I still have no flowers. Leaves appearing this year and a very mature specimen locally already has a few flowers. I have pruned as advised. How long should I give it before giving up. It is on a west facing wall.
