By London based garden designer Pippa Schofield. After building a new conservatory it became clear that the view out onto the garden needed improving.
The family wanted a patio with plenty of space to entertain and ‘masses of colourful flowers’ throughout the year. A new sandstone terrace was built and a beautiful statue was moved to create a focal point towards the end of the garden.
Pleached Hornbeam trees were planted across the back of the garden to screen the neighbours and deep planting beds added to draw the eye up the garden.
The garden shed was hidden under exuberant climbing roses and clematis and lovely textural plants were added with colourful leaves which last so much longer than flowers.
