By Brighton garden designer Nick Dexter. The garden is located close to Brighton seafront and experiences coastal winds and salt spray.
The plants need to be tough and resilient so we looked to nature for inspiration.
Being a small garden the plant palette combined long flowering sub-shrubs, self supporting perennials and structural grasses.
The Regency architecture of the property is well proportioned and understated. The format of the garden is also simple - based on a grid. A new wall divides these two seating areas and also forms a backdrop for movement plants.
Water flows from a pool near the house and drops into a lower water feature adjacent to a new deck.
