By Garden Designer Paul Dracott. The client requested a contemporary courtyard garden to blend with his open plan interior and to be used as integral space for his many parties.
The simple rectilinear ground pattern encourages movement into the garden and creates clean lines and a restful space.
The low rendered benches frame the central contemporary water element which is lit with blue led strips beneath the galvinised rill cover.
The Phyllostachys nigra provide screening from neighbouring properties and the gentle sound of their foliage enhances the feeling of calm during the day. Colour is added to the scheme by drifts of Rudbeckia filgida 'Deamii' and Ligularia przwalskii.
Party lighting is further enhanced by large back lit etched glass panels lit in red and green. The resulting garden is calm and restful by day and a vibrant party space by night!
