By garden designer Caroline Comber. Taking inspiration from the South African philosophy of Ubuntu, designer Caroline Comber, hopes to emphasise the need for international participation in strengthening the worldwide community.
It takes a shared global response to meet the collective challenges we face and we must strive to build mutually beneficial partnerships among societies and nations; in the process creating a safer and more harmonious world.
The concept is realised and achieved through the use of interlocking circles, filled with single species plants. Where these circles interlock, the species combine. This is repeated on a large scale, using a variety of different sized circles.
Areas of single species mass planting are created, which then come together to form mixed planting combinations where the circles overlap.
Ultimately there is one circular flowerbed in which all the species are planted together harmoniously; the concept proving that something far greater is achieved through contribution and participation.
