Mindful Living

Vestra Wealth LLP, is partnering with leading landscape and garden designer, Paul Martin, to create a show garden at the 2016 RHS Chelsea Flower Show

The garden takes inspiration from the importance of living more consciously, being aware of one’s surroundings and appreciating the environment. It is a contemporary garden owned by a busy city client and takes inspiration from the love of Far Eastern travel and yoga. Spending time in nature is one of the most powerful ways to reinstate a sense of ease and the garden creates a calm space to recharge after a busy day, essential in today’s constant activity.

Planting is used to create a gentle, calm and relaxing space to unwind. Large multi-stemmed trees provide dappled shade over a planting palette of soft greens and ferns, which dance beside secret rills of water that escape through blocks of limestone. The design incorporates clean lines and smart details such as corten walls, subtle grey splashed limestone and large sliding shutters that open to reveal the sparkling city views at night.

This year marks the fifth year that Vestra and Paul have partnered. Theming the show garden on mindful living reflects Vestra’s focus to offer a more fruitful and meaningful approach to wealth management, helping to promote a good life around money. Vestra was established in 2008 as a new breed of wealth manager which put understanding clients at the heart of its founding principles.

David Scott comments: “We are privileged to be partnering with Paul to bring to life the concept of mindful living. At Vestra we believe that understanding clients’ non financial values, thoughts and concerns are equally important. We strive to reach a better understanding of our clients’ future wealth planning needs in order to help them better enjoy their wealth. Paul’s creativity and skill are an inspiration and we are delighted to share the experience of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show with him.

Paul Martin comments: “I am delighted to be back once again at the Chelsea Flower Show and with Vestra Wealth for our fifth year collaborating with the RHS. Our garden this year is a garden to relax and unwind in, designed for a busy city couple and inspired by travel to Far Eastern corners, the design draws its flavour from a need to create a space to reconnect with oneself and nature, with varying shades of greens, and odd splashes of orange to tie into the use of corten steel. The terrace and pavilion create a relaxing space for meditation and yoga. A rill of fresh water bubbles up through blocks of limestone and hand rolled beeswax candles illuminate the garden in the evening. As guests arrive, the shutters in the pavilion slide back to reveal a stunning vista of London at night. I do hope you enjoy our creation for the world famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show and take time to relax and unwind in our oasis of calm."
