By Tony Smith. The Quilted Velvet Garden, created by medal-winning garden designer Tony Smith, is an unusual conceptual design illustrating Quilted Velvet toilet tissue's commitment to ensuring that three trees are replanted for every one it uses.
The carpet of 30,000 miniature oak trees provides a rich texture in this intriguing garden, reflecting Quilted Velvet's extensive tree planting initiatives. A series of oak structures frames the edge of the garden to surround and protect the seedling trees.
In the centre of the design, three blue cedar trees watch over a horizontal tree trunk which bisects the garden, visually representing Quilted Velvet's 'three trees' message.
A line of vibrant purple heather swirls through as 'the spirit of the forest'.
Every element of this thought-provoking garden is composed of natural materials which will be recycled after the show, reflecting Quilted Velvet's commitment to the environment.
