Show gardens: 60°EAST a Garden between Continents

Designed by Ekaterina Zasukhina with Carly Kershaw. Over the centuries travellers from both east and west have collided at longitude 60°, the Ural mountains, where cultures and civilisations have met over the years sharing their art, their stories and their gardens; in so doing taking inspiration from both man and nature.

‘60°East A Garden between Continents’, at the border between continents, draws upon east and west to create a unique blend of European and Asian planting palettes, brought together in a sweeping naturalistic composition evocative of the unsurpassed beauty of the Ural Mountain landscapes; its peaks, forests, rivers and slopes.

This garden invites the modern city dweller, as well as the international traveller, to take a journey into the mountains, to pause and take a moment to reflect, to wonder at the beauty, and perhaps to consider man’s place in nature and through time as a story in which stewardship of that precious landscape has become essential or the future of us all.
