Hi, Julie,
Do you have this in your 'Plants I Have' list? If so, when you click on the 'How to Care' tab on the Hibiscus syriacus 'Marina' page, you will get a list of care instructions. Under January, click the link 'Selective pruning only' and you will get full information on what pruning group 1 means as well as how and when to prune.
