1st is Forsythia sp. - you may be able to narrow it further down if you post a pic of the flowers
2nd is a Viburnum; which is more than likely to be Viburnum x bodnantense 'Dawn'

Hi, Matthew,
Bare root are typically only available in autumn or winter and should be planted straight away while still dormant, as long as the soil is not frozen.
Container grown trees/shrubs are best planted in autumn/early winter. Next best time is spring. Having said that, they can be planted at any time but will require more aftercare if planted in summer, for instance, as they will most likely need for water for establishing roots, etc.

Hi Matthew - I see you have asked a number of questions about a number of plants.
Have you added each of these to your 'Plants I have' list? Once you do that you get access to more care advice about how to plant, when to prune etc. This is made available in the plant page and also your personal 'My Care Calendar'
We also have information about flower colour/season etc as standard information for each plant. If you can add all your plants to your personal list first then please come back and ask any questions you cannot find answers to.

Is it getting enough sun? Though it tolerates partial shade, it will flower best in full sun. Has it been pruned recently? How harsh was the winter where you live? Any chance you could post a photo?

Inherited when we bought the house I have just discovered the identiy of this shrub which has been grown against the fence as a tree shape. It does not seem to produce very many flowers but as it is winter flowering I would welcome any advice to get it going.
