i have had this plant for about 4 years and although it buds every year i never get any flowers it is planted in an area of semi shade in a sheltered position any suggestions

Hi, Peter,
There are a number of reasons why the buds fail to open. One culprit could be thrips attacking the buds. Give a bud or two a close inspection this spring. Another reason could be cold, wet springs - in this kind of weather the buds could rot. Finally, it could be frost damage, even though it's in shelter.

I have Elizabeth too, it is on the north west side in the woods, it gets protection from the early frosts, so siting it might be the key problem.
