This iris was given to me by a friend who was cleaning out his pond - so this now lives in my pond. It flowers in early summer and the flowers are quite short-lived.

Hi, Jan,
I'm leaning toward it being a cultivar or Iris ensata rather than Iris laevigata. Can you post a close-up of the flower?

I'm sorry the close up is not quite sharp! Do both of the iris you mention live in water?

Your iris is a form of iris versicolor.
