I have one of these wonderfull plants, I bought it 2 years ago and it flowered last year for the first time. I haven't trimmed or pruned it in anyway and was wondering if I need too or if it will come back again. The stocks look dead.....very dry and brittle, can you help. I'm not the best gardener and don't want it to die. can you help.

If it is still alive it will throw up new shoots from the base of the plant, when you see these, then cut back the old dry stem, it does help to provide some protection against frost. So long as it is well drained over winter it should be OK

I just checked my plant and it is showing a small shoot, I will cut the old twigs off in a week or so just to ensure it has some weather protection.
