I forgot to prune my euphorbia last autumn; so now i have some straggly old stems and some flimsy new ones and no flowers. Is it best to prune it now (Early May) anyhow, so the new shoots get a chance to get away. Help please!

You can remove all the old bloomed out wood, it will give a chance to the new stems. Wear gloves, cannot stress this enough also make sure you wear some protective eye wear, the sap is really bad.
