My fuchsias are growing strong but they seem to be growing quite slowly. They are growing in 9cm pots and are outside during the day but in at night until end May. Is this normal for May?

Hi,
From what I understand, 'Blacky' has a moderate growth rate. Also, since it on the tender side, it might just pick up once temps are warmer. Are they getting fed regularly? Perhaps a high-nitrogen feed if you want more leaf growth (might reduce flowering, though).

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for reply. They are in fertile compost with a little growmore so I don't think feed is an issue. Maybe you are right about the temp. Strangely my blackie fuschia is growing the strongest! The rest seem a bit sluggish. Maybe a week of warm sun will get them growing! Will soon put them into their final containers. Do you keep yours in semi-shade? S :-)
